Rain rain go away, don’t come on my wedding day!

In some cases, this is a bride’s worst nightmare when she has spent months, if not years, preparing for this day, just for it to be ruined by unexpected weather. The weather is not negotiable. So what do you do?! Here are a few tips to guarantee your wedding day goes as smoothly and nicely as it possibly can in the event the weather makes a special appearance.

Reading the fine print- it’s always best to ask every single question, big or small, to the venue you plan to choose for your special day. Making sure to confirm if accommodations are available within certain crises or circumstances. You should always make sure that a back up plan and location to use is available. If the facility does not have a second option, best to not make them your first option to begin with. If the facility is a “love at first sight” location, make sure to set your wedding on the rainy off season. In some cases, the facility will go above and beyond to make sure the day is as special as can be because that is what they strive to give their clients. If you trusted them on the idea of it being good weather, they should work even harder to fulfill your needs during bad weather.

Make friends with a rental company- If you’re committed to an outdoor wedding, regardless of the unforeseen weather, it’s best to have a back up plan for that big day. Having tent rentals for you and your guests to take cover from the weather is a great start.

Making light of the situation and going with the flow-Make it a memorable event by having everyone wear rain covers as part of the “always and forever '' downpouring moment. It is a once in a lifetime moment but it’s not the end of the world. Being able to fulfill your daily routine while managing the weather to your advantage is a win/win. Change out those pretty heels for a pair of matching rain boots to keep it fun and practical. Use the rain as a symbol of your marriage. Instead of guests throwing rice, consider the rain as hugs and kisses from your guests as you pass them by.

Originality- just remember that your photographer loves to get down and dirty if it means he or she will be able to capture an epic shot. Using what nature has to offer can be messy but also very original. You’ll be stunned at how detailed and beautiful your photos will look. Make the moment one to remember. Not to mention, customized umbrellas and rain boots can really make the pictures a memorable moment for you both.

You never know what the weather has to offer. Some may think this is the worst case scenario but others might embrace nature's doings and use it to their advantage. Your flowers will hopefully stay looking beautiful since they will not get wilted due to the cooler temperature, the light watering, and humidity. Rain reduces pollen so those guests who suffer from the outdoors will most likely be thrilled at not interrupting your special moment with a continuous sneeze!

At the end of it all, regardless of rain or shine, you are still going to walk down that aisle and end it with a nice and hot smooch. Don’t let a little rain, rain on your parade!
