Your BIG DAY can be overwhelming and full of emotions. It is no secret that every bride has dreamt and wished for this day to come until it is finally here. It is easy to become flustered, worried, and overwhelmed by all the love and over joys leading to saying the final words, I do, before venturing off into a new world of becoming husband and wife. The last thing your photographer wants to do is add any additional stress. By following these simple steps and recommendations, this will ensure your photographer can be on top of capturing your once in a lifetime moment, your wedding day.
Most photographers work around you. We ask all your wants, needs, and looks you wish to convey during this special event. Having a space designated for your photographer to arrange all your props, looks, needs, and ideas is the key to a successful photoshoot. The last thing any photographer wants is to not be able to give you what you hoped and wished for. Our job is to capture your love for one another, your hearts speaking through your eyes and smiles, and your ability to showcase love without needing to say anything at all. In order to fulfill your expectations, you must also comply with certain requests made by yours truly, your photographer. Please reference these few steps to make sure your day is executed exactly how you imagined with the most ease.
- Always communicate with your photographer on what your overall look is you wish to convey in your photos. If you are unsure on where to take the photos because you are not familiar with scenic areas, make sure to mention that. Your photographer has been around, literally! They are aware of locations and architectural areas that may assist in making your photos turn out exactly how you had imaged them to be.
- Make sure to be open and honest with your photographer. Both, you and your photographer, need to feel comfortable working together. Give references to the looks you'd like to try out, poses you wish to capture, and whom you wish to have your photos taken with. This includes family, bridesmaids, and even pets! Without comfort and trust, that creates low confidence, insecurities, and that is not what a bride needs as she struts her way down the aisle, happily ever after.
- Any props, items, nicks and crannies you wish to photograph with, should be in your possession and kept in a protected area to ensure no damages occur prior to your shoot. Many brides like to carry or incorporate something sentimental to commemorate or remember a loved one on this special day. By having these items well-kept and preserved, this will result in an everlasting memory captured for you to have and cherish as you embark on a new journey in life.
- Your surroundings can either make or break the look you wish to have on your wedding day. Letting your photographer know what inspires you, color palate’s you feel make you stand out, and décor you want to incorporate, will tie in all details to making your memories last forever in a single shot.
- The 5th and final step, be authentically you. Pose in a way that makes you comfortable and incorporate your culture and traditions into the shot, but also take your photographer's advice into consideration. Remember, we see you, you don’t see yourself. So, when we advise you to turn your face slightly to the right or hold a pose, it is because we are making sure to capture the angles that best flatter your features. We are programmed to strive for the ultimate shot. Trusting our judgment and taking our advice will give you ease in knowing we are shooting your photos as close to perfection as we are capable of.
